Vne

Speed range is 35 - 120 knots which is wide for this type of aircraft

120 kts

(136mph)

Top Speed

The 100hp reaches Vne at 5400 rpm (cruise pitch) demonstrating the efficiency of the low-drag airframe

110 kts(125mph)

120 kts(136mph)

Cruise Speed

Cruise speed varies from a fast cruise at 105kts to economical cruise at 80 kts. Low noise with comfortable adjustable seating and great all round visibility make long trips very pleasant and easy.

Like high performance gliders, the Allegro has negative flap for cruise efficiency

Flap   +15

40 kts

Flap   +48

The large and powerful flaps allow excellent short field landings making this a truly STOL aircraft

Rate of Climb

Low empty weight and minimum drag give a good climb rate. Solo climb rate for the 100hp is over 1,300 fpm

900 fpm

1000 fpm

Glide ratio

Glide ratio indicates the drag efficiency of the airframe and affects all performance parameters. Careful streamlining is everywhere including the smooth composite fuselage and low-drag cooling design. The wing design also contributes to the excellent glide ratio.  From 3,000 feet, the Allegro will glide nearly 7 miles!

12 : 1

Sink Rate

Engine idle, at 70 mph the Allegro has a gentle sink rate of 400 fpm taking 8 minutes to descend from 3,000 feet. With full flaps, the rate is over 700 fpm and it can sideslip at 1,400 fpm

400-1400 fpm

Take Off in nil wind conditions

The Rotax 912 engine combined with big flaps make this a true STOL aircraft

* Performance figures based on actual tests on a 2005 model Allegro 2000 Light Sport Aircraft (600kg) version in the USA. The new 2008 model is likely to better these results, particularly cruise speed, fuel burn and duration due to the better aerodynamic shape
